The Evolution of a Soul
The greatest difficulty with understanding how our minds create stem from the narrow focus we hold on our single physical life. We are much more than this ego person in this body in this single physical lifetime. We are eternal beings whose lives have always been and always will be. Eternity is a very long time. No matter what occurs in a single lifetime it cannot affect who we really and truly are. Losing an arm or one’s eyesight is nothing for a soul that is immortal and perfect. For such a being how could there ever be fear or worry or doubt?
So we setup a game, one in which we forget who we are for what seems to be a very long time. Although time does not really exist we have created the illusion that time is real by a sequencing of events and a space in which these events leave their mark and maintain a continuity. The net result is a seemingly real existence where it seems that we can indeed be harmed…the mark is left and the continuity is maintained. The physical dimension is a place where we can experience and feel fear, something that cannot happen in our pure pristine state as God. Because a small piece of God isolates Itself in a human form and perspective, it can experience the rest of God as separate, vast, and powerful. Because God isolates many parts of Itself into many human forms, God gets many different perspectives to experience Itself form. This also gives God the chance to have many other beings to interact with relieving what must be the ultimate in loneliness.
Once we enter this dimension we take on a boundary that seemingly separates us, or delineates us, from the rest of God. This boundary is maintained by our own unique and individual experiences in the worlds of time and space. This boundary is our personality, which we continuously develop and fine tune over many lifetimes. Desires are born from the seeming lack that exists within any given moment and place; these desires draw life-force energy through us and anchor us in the movement through time and space.
In this playground of creativity we have many physical bodies which we call lifetimes or incarnations. When we start out we are a new soul, have forgotten everything about who we are and have a clean personality barren of any sort of habit or skill. When we complete our cycles of incarnation into physical form, we are a mature old soul, we remember fully who we are, we have a well developed personality which has the habits and skills of a master. There are many stages we pass through during our evolution; infancy, childhood, adolescence, young adult, maturity, and old age. This is why you can find old men who behave like a naughty child and a young child that behaves like a mature adult.
From the perspective of our Oversoul we chose the circumstantial setup of our lifetime. These are the broad brush strokes that paint the background of our life. They include people, places and the type of body that we inhabit.
Once in the body every thought we think, every action we take causes us to develop habits of thought and action. These habits of thought are the only thing that we carry forward with us from lifetime to lifetime. The habits of the body die with the body, but are easier to develop in succeeding lifetimes due to the habit of thought that came with the habit of body. These habits of thought are the personality traits that form the boundary that define who we are as a separate being from the rest of God.
There are consequences to our thoughts and actions which includes our feelings too. As a young and immature soul these consequences and feelings are difficult to relate to our thoughts and more easy to relate to our actions and outer circumstances. As a mature soul we come to realize that our thoughts are at the core of all of our actions and feelings. We also come to realize that we can even manipulate outer circumstances, including the actions of others by the way we think.
Our thoughts form permanent elementals in the psychic world which gain strength and energy with repetition of those thoughts and loose strength and energy by the lack of such thoughts. Elementals are Thought Forms. These elementals are the basis of what we call our energy and our habits of thought. These elementals repel certain people and events and attract others. With enough focus these elementals can even take on physical form. These elementals return to us frequently for a refresh of energy, and we feed them each time we think in the way that we created them. How much we feed them depends upon the length of time we give them our mental focus and how steady that focus is. Thus they seem to have a life of their own and they seem to control us when they return to us for a feeding. We can deplete elementals of their strength and energy by not thinking about them and giving our thoughts and energy to other more desirable elementals.
When we die we shed our physical bodies and live in our psychic and mental bodies. These elementals still exist there. They still influence us, cause us to think in predictable and habitual ways, and create the reality that we perceive in the psychic realm. As an immature soul, we have no understanding of these elementals; we believe them to be of a reality beyond our control. Thus we have either a hellish experience or a heavenly one based on the nature of these elementals, and the thoughts they compel us to think. This is one of the reasons so many young souls insist that there is a heaven or hell while in the physical world because this is what they have experienced. As a mature soul we gain control over these elementals and can deactivate them and create more desirable elementals. As a mature soul we can easily escape any hellish elementals and create heavenly ones even while we exist only in our psychic and mental bodies. This is why mature souls insist that life is what you make it while in the physical world because this is what they have experienced. If you have not gained control over your mind in the physical plane, you will not have control of it in the psychic or mental planes after you die.
At the highest level of our individual being is that which I call our Oversoul. Along with the Masters of Karma, or the Holy Spirit, or God, depending on how you choose to label that level of creation, our Oversoul helps our soul in its evolution. Our Oversoul with the Masters of Karma selects the circumstances of our next incarnation including physical bodies that are prone to illness or health, physical living locations which may contain pollutants that cause illness or a clean and natural environment, and kind loving people or abusive predators as relatives, friends, teachers, doctors, lawyers and other professional people we might encounter in our lifetime. Our Oversouls choose such circumstances in order to have experiences that are impossible to have as an unlimited and immortal being. Our Oversoul also chooses such experiences so that we can learn and correct our mistakes in thought and create elementals that support us in gaining that which we desire. The unfulfilled desires we form in our physical lifetimes are also taken into account in the setup of incarnational circumstances. Ultimately all of our desires will be fulfilled in some way over the course of our many incarnations.
For example if in a lifetime we desired wealth and created it at the expense of others our Oversoul would create circumstances for the soul to understand how it feels to be subjugated by another and used to create wealth for someone other than self. Then in another lifetime the Oversoul may create a lifetime where wealth is inherited, while peace and happiness may be kept at arm’s length for the soul to learn that wealth is not the source of happiness. If in a lifetime a soul created extreme pollution as an industrial leader, the Oversoul would create life circumstances where the soul must live in a polluted environment which would cause physical discomforts and diseases. If in a lifetime where sexual appetites were created by a man who forced sex upon his own or other children, or others who were physically weaker than he was, then a lifetime where he is unwillingly forced to meet the sexual appetites of others is created. You will find that in some past eras this was considered natural and normal in certain cultures and in this era it is considered perverted. As many individuals have experienced both sides of this issue humanity as a whole has changed its view on the situation and it is rare to find a culture that supports it. We must realize that we have done many things in our past lifetimes that we would now consider a crime; it is naïve to think otherwise.
From the perspective of the Oversoul evolution and maturity are the goal. The Oversoul wants to bring this separate, individual soul, to full realization of its oneness with God and into full power and access to the creative resources and attributes of God, while it still maintains its own unique beingness as an individual soul. From the perspective of the soul that incarnates in physical, psychic and mental bodies, desires are born, elementals are created, and the personality is formed, all of which lead to consequences and the creation of balancing and fulfilling circumstances by the Oversoul and the Masters of Karma.

This is a very engaging post. I sense that souls have had many experiences in previous lifetimes. I also sense that learning unconditional love and forgiveness will enable us to move beyond the impulse to judge who we might have been and what we may have done in the past. Existing as human beings is an opportunity to learn to transcend pride, criticism, to cease comparing and move to simply observing with serenity and complete impartiality.
