Is Desire Getting in the Way of Intuition?
Yes there is a relationship between intuition and desire. Desire is the creative force in your life. Desire is what brings to you the things you have in your life. So if you are creating with desire then it is quite natural that intuition would come about, an advanced warning, something you want is near.
You are always meeting up, every day, with that which you desire. Isn’t it true? Well ISN’T it? It is true. Now, unfortunately most people don’t understand desire and how they create and they think life is a series of random events. It is not. Or at least it must be random when something bad is happening right? WRONG!
Let’s take a hypothetical example. Someone gets treated poorly by someone else, disrespect, neglect, abuse, anything like that. How does that make you feel when it happens to you? How long do you spend dwelling on it, “If only I said this, or that.” Hours, days, weeks, lifetimes? Only seconds, then you are truly enlightened. But it is not seconds is it?
Now if I try and stop you from thinking of the disrespect, try to get you to stop talking about it and sulking or being angry, will I be successful? Will you want me to stop you? No. And if I can distract you for a few moments, won’t you go right back to later? Yes. Why? Because you want it.
Look, you have to control your thoughts, and desire is a thought. You have to know you have the desire, but that one slipped right past you didn’t it? You have the desire to get pissy at someone else don’t you? Sometimes it feels downright good to get indignant doesn’t it?

In order for the Universe, God, Divine Mother, Jesus or whoever floats your boat to give you what you want they have to deliver people to you who you can get pissy at, people who deserve your indignation. Right?
Okay that is just one side of the Human condition. Desire is not just for “good” things. You have hundreds and hundreds of desires. If you want real power, real wisdom, real love, then you must get in touch with all of your desires and learn to tame them.
So intuition will run alongside of desire. God is delivering to you what you desire and you intuitively know it is there, whether you are conscious of it or not, and you look this way or turn that way and there you are smack dab in the middle of the experience you desire.
So you meet someone, they look at you a certain way, or you just notice them and feel something. You won’t feel something if it is a non-desire. You will be ambivalent. So the desire and intuition are always getting mixed up.
How do you know if your intuition is correct? You feel it. And you ask yourself, “What does this feel like?” Then you wait and see. Were you right or wrong? Soon you learn to recognize which end is up and which is down so to speak. Life is evolution. Give yourself time to evolve. You don’t have to get it right every time. In fact getting it wrong is often more educational and permanent in its effect. You certainly don’t put your hand in the dog’s mouth twice after you get bit do you? But until then that dog can be pretty attractive.
Rationalization kills Intuition. Look, your mind is creative. Your reality is formed from your thoughts. Absolute truth! So if you begin to rationalize then what is left of the message that came from intuition?
Now you must be logical and emotional, in balance. Think, feel, recognize your feelings, recognize your thoughts, become conscious. That is powerful! So what if someone is attracted to you? It is cool. You notice. You can feel it. Nothing was said, but you know. Great. Now is it appropriate for you and your situation? Hmmm, maybe, maybe not. Maybe some great business opportunity is in front of you, your feelings are excited, you have always wanted this. You intuit that this is the big chance you have been waiting for. If it is right then it will work out, synchronicity will put it in your lap. If it is not right, or not the right time, the right day, you are not yet the right person, then you may not succeed on this try. But your intuition told you this was for you. Did you learn something? Then your intuition was right.
Often what makes “sense” is what you have been told, or exposed to, over and over and over. Your mind has to become flexible and open. You have to feel to be in touch with your intuition…but still don’t forget to balance it with clear thinking.
So when you come to huge choices in life take the time to sit down and play it out in your mind. If I choose option #1 what will happen, how will it play out, how does it feel? Imagine it, direct it as a movie in your mind, feel it! Then try on option #2. Same thing. Compare the feelings. Go with what feels good. It will be a perfect guide. But don’t make the mistake of thinking that you cannot choose a new direction later. Once you have made a choice to head in a certain direction and then one day another choice comes along to be made, you again have to feel your way through it. How does it feel to continue in that direction or change to another one? Do not start thinking that if you choose something new, then the prior choice, the prior intuition was wrong…it was necessary to bring you to this new place of choice!
This is a daily, moment to moment, exercise of becoming conscious and going with the flow. Shifting, moving, flowing through life as it presents itself to you, you have a new choice and new option. Feel again. Go where it feels good. Love is waiting for you there.
Other people will only confuse you. What do they know? Most people know nothing of life. They are children. They deny their own power and pretend to be needy, or better than you. You can only take what someone is telling you and feel it. If it feels good, then go with it. If not then don’t.
When the timing is right for great things it is obvious. When there is anxiety, worry, doubt, it rarely turns out good. Perhaps if you have a distorted view of something good and you worry about it, then later you realize how silly your worry was as you discover the good that was really there. But then that is just a matter of not knowing your own mind. If you feel negative emotion such as worry, fear, or anxiety when you focus on a specific topic or a person, then perhaps you should pay attention and wait. No harm comes from waiting. Opportunities keep on coming, one after another. Especially in this time in history. Life is accelerating.
It is best to operate from a place of strength in life. If you are depleting yourself to engage in some activity then that is not good. Suffering will surely follow. But if you have the skills, the desire, the strength, the time, the energy, and it feels like the right thing go for it. If you light up and become energized by your activities and the outer world responds in like kind you are on track. If it is a struggle you are probably in for a learning experience, maybe even a painful one.

Terrific stuff! Controlling thoughts was one of the first, and most important, things I learned when I began to open up spiritually. How enlightening it felt to know that our emotions, our desires, etc…they were all created from thought.
It seems so ignorant now to look back and see how controlled by my mind I once was. The answer was there in front of me all along: Change your thoughts, change your life. And once I opened up to that and accepted it and seen it as the truth…how liberating! It was a certainly a magical realization.
I hope anyone who reads this understands it as I did. It really does work, my friends. It’s all up to you. Believing IS seeing!
Thanks, Michael!
