How do I Know what I Teach is True?
In response to a question that was asked on my blog Truth vs. the Bible someone asked, “How do I know what I teach is true?” I have a lot more blogs on MySpace.
Wow now that is a wonderful question! Unfortunately this guy was just setting me up to blast me with more of his Christian teachings. He wasted his time writing because as soon as I saw what he was up to I deleted his message. I am not here to debate. If you want to learn what I have to teach, and have a question to ask for clarification then I will read your message and respond. Or if you have some real wisdom yourself from your own experience to share with me I am happy to read it. But if your intention is to educate me about the bible or your religion or to debate my teachings don’t bother. I quickly see through the BS and just move on.
So How Do I Know What I Teach is True?
The short answer is years of experience which include many miracles and amazing coincidences. I speak to God on a daily basis and I also get independent feedback from outside of myself that confirm that what I am hearing is God’s wisdom and not my own ego…my ego does a lot of talking too, but I have learned to tell the difference. My book chronicles seven years of those experiences in great detail (my book contains the long in depth answer to this question).
The medium size answer is as follows…
I grew up Catholic and was indoctrinated into the belief system common amongst Christians. I was an altar boy; I went to a Catholic school for two and a half years, catechism for every other year of my childhood. I was interested too; I asked a lot of questions. I was never really satisfied with the answers. I don’t recall that I ever fully believed it, but I believed enough of it for it to haunt me for many years after I gave it up at the age of eighteen.
I remember that as a child I just knew that God was all that there was, that nothing else could possibly exist outside of God. I also knew that He split Himself into many beings so that She could cease the loneliness and have someone else to talk to and share Her experience of Life with. I had never encountered that philosophy at that time. The nuns and priests never spoke such a thing. I just knew it. But then later in life I discovered other teachers, very intelligent, wise articulate masters who also said the same thing. I was blown away and a bit proud that I already understood this concept.
These masters were different from the priests and nuns and my father who taught me religion. The Catholic answer to difficult questions was faith, have faith…we believe…the answer of these other, wise teachers were articulated in great detail. They backed up what they had to teach with their own very interesting and very amazing experiences. So in my eyes these masters knew something that the priests and nuns and my father did not know.
One evening, when I was twenty six years old, I was watching a movie, “Out on a Limb” with Shirley McLain. It was (a dramatization) of her experiences with “alternative” spiritual explorations. She reported having some pretty amazing experiences which caught my attention. In the movie she talked about Edgar Cacey and the wonderful healing work he had done as a psychic and a channeler. Mr. Cacey’s work is very well documented and contained success after success in the face of scoffers, skeptics, and typical close-minded Christians. We are talking hard physical evidence that what he spoke was true. Mr. Cacey was a devout Christian himself, teaching Bible studies to many devoted students. He was well known for his dedication, taking little or no money for his work, and tireless efforts to help others. Something the skeptics who were largely self-serving could not compete with. An internet search for Edgar Casey will tell you more about this great man. “There is a River” is an excellent book to learn about the life of Edgar Cacey, it will move you to tears the love this man had for God and humanity.
When the movie was over, I wanted to read his books ASAP! I had no idea of where to find them but I prayed to God to help me find them. Then I went out to get my mail which had been sitting in my mailbox for the last three days. In it there was a catalog for the A.R.E. Society’s bookstore sent to the prior resident of my home…this society was formed to distribute the massive volumes of books written about Edgar Cacey and his works. Well needless to say I was blown away! I felt it was a very good sign that I should read his books. Then I called a friend who I knew was also watching the movie and told her what happened. And she told me that she had a couple of Edgar Cacey books and I could come by and get them anytime. I went straight away and began reading that very night.
Ever since that night I haven’t stopped reading and studying and putting into practice what I have learned. I have read the works of so many teachers it would make your head spin. They ALL report the same thing…results! When you understand true spiritual law, and you apply it in your life you get results. Faith without works is dead. People that know me know that I am an amazing person; I live a very different life than most others. I think very differently. And the outer world responds to me and my thinking. Miracles occur!
One thing that I believe you will find interesting is that my results even contain “negative” experiences…I quoted it that way because even the negative is a positive when you learn from them. My old programming, the beliefs and ideas I hold deeply in my subconscious, which conflict with truth and conflict with my chosen goals in life cause me to suffer and receive results I do not want. I can see those and have learned from those too, and when I successfully changed the old thought patterns the external world changed too.
When I was younger I read the miraculous accounts of teachers like Paramahansa Yogananda in his book Autobiography of a Yogi and loved the stories and the possibilities, but still I thought it was a fairy tale. It was difficult for me to believe these accounts and the accounts of Jesus’ miraculous life just because I had no such experiences. But then times came where I did start to have such experiences. They came as a result of my practice and maturity. And now I too understand. Now I believe Yogananda and Swami Rama when I read of their incredible experiences due to the fact that they articulate so well the same truths that I have come to know and use to create miracles in my own life.
There certainly are others who have discovered the same thing, many many others. But compared to the whole of society, they are very few in numbers. I enjoy MySpace because I have met like minded people who are also getting results. Like attracts like. I am not alone in my understanding as can be clearly seen by some of the other responses to my blog posting.
I could go on and on with this topic, but that is why I wrote my book. That is why I write these blogs. They contain the essence of my teachings and experiences. I hope that helps…I don’t need to convince anyone, but it brings me great joy when someone is touched by what I teach, takes it in, practices, and gets results too. That is worth every bit of effort I put into teaching others.
My blogs really do contain all you need to know in order to live a healthy and happy life and the live coaching I offer in the healing group fills in the gaps. Please consider joining this group today. http://RelationshipAdviceSite.com

Great words Michael, and I believe it too. The second I really called on God to help me, was the second I learned that everything I had always felt was true. I am like you, in the sense that it amazes me how much I knew and felt before I had ever seen it articulated. It was only just this last June when I was drowning in a sea of worry and frustration. I can’t believe how many wonderful things have happened since that time. Namaste!
