A Marriage Made in Heaven Part I

Indian Wedding Dressing of BrideI arrived in India on January 8th, 2005. It had only been eight months since I was deported from Australia and I could not wait to get out of the United States again. After living in Australia for five years I knew there was more to see in the world and I did not want to be stuck in a country I had already lived in for 40 years. Been there done that.

I had never wanted to go to India. Many people I had met in Australia had gone there, they loved it…and they ALL reported getting sick while in India. I didn’t want to go to a place where I was guaranteed to get sick. That did not sound like fun to me. But here I was embarking on a journey I thought I would never take.

At the time I gave Paramahansa Yogananda’s book Autobiography of a Yogi the majority of the credit for my about-face-decision to go to India. I had read the book two other times before but at that time it felt more like a fairy tale than anything else. But in August of 2004, less than a year after my first Self-realization experience, I felt drawn to read it again. My Self-realization experience was a gift from God; it was an experience I had no control of and could not create at will. It left me longing for more…Yogananda had reported having such experiences in his book. He went on to describe the practices the he had been learning from his master, the techniques for deliberately achieving that state of Samadhi. Yogananda also described in great detail the feats of many great masters he had encountered who had achieved this state. I got the notion from reading his book that going to India might help me unlock some inner doors. Thus I made the decision to go to this mystical magical place known as India, the land of a million spiritual masters.

Many Gods, Conflicting Theories - Who is Right?

Worshipping GodsHow can anyone tell you who God is? How can a church, a religion, or any teacher tell you who or what God is? They can not!. Have they seen Him? Have they talked to Her? Of course not! Not in the physical sense that so many seem to think that God is in.

Our language is not rich enough to put into words the incredible unlimited nature of God. The only thing anyone can do is describe to you how they have come to know and experience God. And even then the fullness and intensity of their experience will be lost in their words.

If you have been reading the various spiritual books on the topic of God and spirituality you may have noticed many inconsistencies or contradictions amongst authors. This includes all books; “The Bible” as well as the huge volume of modern books available to us.

You may have read some books that have been channeled and thought, “Because some spiritual entity is teaching through this author or speaker it must be true.” Then you read another author and find contradictions. How can they both be right?

Please keep in mind that the spiritual truth is given but the channeler (or author) may have blocks, judgments or set ideas about certain topics. These will interfere with accurate channelings. The truth is so much bigger than can be put into words; much of it gets lost as it is condensed down into the limited constructs that we use to communicate with.

You must consider the perspective that the communication is coming from and of the issue being addressed. It would be like a being from another planet trying to describe planet earth from his space ship orbiting the earth or while standing in the desert. The description may be accurate from those perspectives, yet there are many other descriptions that could be given from many other perspectives that are also accurate. How much different would the description be if this being were standing on the ocean floor?

God is everywhere and everything; there is nowhere that God is not. There is nothing outside of God, not even you and I. We exist inside of God; indeed we are a part of God, an inseparable part. There is no part of us that is not God. However, we are at the leading creative edge of God. We are expanding the Universe, we are expanding God, with each and every thought we think and with each new experience we have.

God is not some being that can somehow be perceived standing in some specific spot in creation. God is every single particle of all of creation in each and every dimension. God is the “All That Is.” To describe God is to compare God to something else and that something else is God too! Can you see how difficult it is try to explain God? You must experience God for yourself!

We do have many lifetimes. I am absolutely convinced of this. Some people find this difficult to believe. Why? Is it any more amazing than we exist at all?

I went through a five-year period in my life where I suffered with extremely painful back pains every single night. I tried doctors, chiropractors, physical therapists and massage therapists; I tried more than one of each and found no relief. One day I did a past life regression on myself. That night, no more back pain! And I have not had them since. This was an instant healing!

You can read this amazing story in my Unforgettable: A Love and Spiritual Growth Story. You will also find the story of how my late wife Kathryn healed a twenty-five year loss of smell and a severe skin condition that lasted ten-years…it prevented her from putting her hands in water! All three of these stories were miraculous healings that occurred as a result of becoming aware and changing our thinking! I also expand more on the conclusions my spiritual journey has brought me to in this book.

Your Personal Spiritual Discoveries
I don’t want to convince you of what you should believe about God or spirituality. However, I do want to convince you to reach for your own experience and understanding. I know that when you do get in touch with the vast spiritual being that you are, you will have experiences that will seem miraculous.

The truth is that these miracles are natural. When you shed the false ideas you have been taught all your life and discover for yourself the true nature of your being you will realize that true spirituality is practical, very practical!

You will discover that by using true spiritual principals you can make every action you take count. This beats the widely popular, yet false belief, that working hard and suffering in the hopes of some future gain is a worthy and noble way to live. When you clarify your awareness you may still find yourself working long hours, but they will be inspired hours that fly by. Those hours will infuse you with life force energy and heal any suffering you may have had in your life.

Sexuality vs. Spirituality

Spirituality versus SexualityIs sexuality spiritual? So many religions and cultures would have you think not. Yet probably most people reading this forum would disagree. The talk is pretty open on it.

From my own personal experience in life I have come to the understanding and wisdom that sexuality is indeed spiritual. In fact all of Life is spiritual, because it all springs forth from spirit. Sexuality is one of our soul’s biggest reasons for incarnating into physical human form.

So why do masters preach abstinence? Why do religions make it taboo? Well, if you are paying attention and reading the vast volume of profound spiritual material that is available these days you will know that masters will speak of both relationships and celibacy as a path to God.

It depends upon the person, what experiences are next for them, the desires of their soul, and the desires of the ego physical human body. If you have a strong desire, you must either fulfill it or discipline it out of yourself. It is easiest if desire is never created, but once it is, it is often easier if it is fulfilled than to try to tame it back and cut it off. And all too often it is the deep desire of the soul which must be fulfilled at some point in time and space.

As a being evolves and has enough experience with their sexual desires over many lifetimes, those desires are fulfilled and celibacy becomes natural. The being learns that the physical relationship is actually depleting compared with what he/she could be doing with that same time and energy. It is not that the pleasure of sexuality is gone; it is still very much enjoyed. But the need for it is gone and there are other goals that require that energy.

You know how when you want something really badly, and it is expensive, you decide you can do without certain things, you can cut back. Even though you like those things, you want this other thing so much more. And what happens is God gives people a taste. An experience of Self-Realization. They get a glimpse and true remembrance of the fact that they are God, they are one with Everything, and that they created Everything. It is so beautiful, and so addicting, that they will give anything to have it.

And so they are motivated to stretch and to reach and to practice. If a person is so lucky, has advanced enough in their personal spiritual growth, they have such an experience. It is the push, the motivation, to reach for that state. The practices become known to them and the effort begins. Thus they have no time or energy for sexuality. It becomes a distraction rather than a pleasure.

This is why abstinence is taught. Abstinence is not meant for those who are not ready for it. But there are plenty of people who do not understand the teachings of the masters and they go about preaching and creating religions with only half understood truths. Also there are too many people who want to know God so badly, they want a taste of divine union so badly, that they think if they imitate the masters, and remain celibate, that they will achieve the same level of awareness quickly. For most this does not happen, they only frustrate themselves, especially when they break their vows.

So it is time to go within, and decide for yourself whether you are meant to fulfill your sexual desires or if you are over it. There is no right or wrong as a rule. Do not let others dictate how appropriate your sexual expression is. There is only right or wrong for you. Feel your feelings, understand the thoughts that are at the root of those feelings, and go with the thoughts and feelings that bring you joy and love. In this way you will bring clarity into your life and your sexuality.

Developing Psychic Abilities

What is My Future How to Develop Psychic AbilityFor years I read about those “special” people who had fantastic abilities and amazing experiences. Oh how I wanted them for myself too. Then a woman came into my life. She enchanted me and enjoyed me. Together we grew and changed and changed and changed.

She knew. And she knew that she knew. Kathryn was frustrated with my rationalism and how I could not perceive what was obvious to her. Still we balanced each other, I made it safe for her to stand up for herself and she became strong. She was one of my greatest teachers.

We had two very special teachers, Ancient Masters each of them. Channeled they were, four years we spent in study and practice. Miracles occurred, coincidences too numerous to ignore. A story too profound and beautiful to tell in such a short space. But it was certainly Unforgettable.

I know beyond a shadow of doubt that you too can develop your psychic abilities. We all have them, they only require development. The secret is in your thoughts and feelings. Pay attention to them. Pay attention to what is happening. How do they match up? Begin to clarify, purifying, your thinking. Watch how your feelings change. Notice how when you are in a clear and peaceful place you can perceive what is around you.

Imagine this; you are sitting in a cozy comfy coffee shop. You are happy and content. Only one other customer is in the room, absorbed in his paper and totally benign. The staff is quiet too. Someone sits down at the table behind you. You do not look. You are content…until you are not. You feel something. Not with your body, well yes in your body, but not a touch. You feel it most strongly in your emotional body.

So without turning around, don’t you think, under these circumstances, that you could tell if this person was in a good mood or a bad one? Without any physical clues, just from a feeling. Don’t you think you would feel lifted up just a little if this person had fallen in love and just today for the first time had their love confirmed by their beloved? Don’t you think you would shudder if he had just violently abused someone, even if it was in his mind?

This is a start, a clue. There are plenty of books on the topic, plenty of great teachers out there. I hold classes on the topic. And my book Unforgettable will show you how I came to be in touch with my own psychic abilities.

But most of all I want to encourage you, encourage everyone, to seek enlightenment. It is there for you, for everyone. It is not a myth. Psychic abilities are just the start, child play really. There is so much more to Life than even this…and it is Beautiful. So seek, and you will find!

How do I Know what I Teach is True?

Teach the TruthIn response to a question that was asked on my blog Truth vs. the Bible someone asked, “How do I know what I teach is true?” I have a lot more blogs on MySpace.

Wow now that is a wonderful question! Unfortunately this guy was just setting me up to blast me with more of his Christian teachings. He wasted his time writing because as soon as I saw what he was up to I deleted his message. I am not here to debate. If you want to learn what I have to teach, and have a question to ask for clarification then I will read your message and respond. Or if you have some real wisdom yourself from your own experience to share with me I am happy to read it. But if your intention is to educate me about the bible or your religion or to debate my teachings don’t bother. I quickly see through the BS and just move on.

So How Do I Know What I Teach is True?
The short answer is years of experience which include many miracles and amazing coincidences.
I speak to God on a daily basis and I also get independent feedback from outside of myself that confirm that what I am hearing is God’s wisdom and not my own ego…my ego does a lot of talking too, but I have learned to tell the difference. My book chronicles seven years of those experiences in great detail (my book contains the long in depth answer to this question).

The medium size answer is as follows…

Karma and Cosmology Part II

A Love Story and Spiritual Wisdom - Karma and CosmologyHere is the first part of this revelation about Karma and Cosmology

The word karma is often used to explain why bad things happen, saying it is due to something bad one did in a prior lifetime or even earlier in this one. But karma is much more than that. As we spend time in this physical dimension of Life we develop our personalities. Our subconscious mind is formed by this development and causes the automatic reactions we have to certain events and ideas. Our karma is intimately linked to our personality and subconscious mind. Karma is our point of attraction based on the energy caused by the shape of our personality and thought patterns held in our subconscious mind.

It works like this, if you hold a lot of judgment in your mind, then your karma will attract people and situations for you to judge. If you are focused on money, making it, saving it, investing it, putting it to work, then opportunities to work with money in these ways are sure to be in your face all of the time. If you are focused on how beautiful life is, how grateful you are to have such abundance, how everything seems to work out in perfect timing then life will happen that way for you.

In terms of the lifespan of a single ego-being, what keeps you here is your karma. If you, your soul, is not finished with this physical experience then it sticks around. If your soul is finished with its desires for this lifetime, or gone as far as your present personality is capable of going it will orchestrate your death. It may even be that your soul needs to experience an early death, an accident or being murdered. Evolved beings know when their time is near, or even desire or long to pass on. Often they are capable of leaving consciously, without a disease or accident to make it happen.

You need to come to a perspective that you are not just this body, this ego-being, that you experience in this limited life experience. You are this ongoing life that has already been eternally at it and will continue to be at it forever more. When you adopt this perspective then it will be much easier for you to handle the little disappointments of life that seem so big in the moment they are occurring. You will remember that now is the only moment that matters so you must make the best of it. You will also be able to see how your karma and personality and subconscious are all shaped by the choices you make and the thoughts you think thus defining what you are attracting and capable of responding to in your future moments.

When you die, you simply leave this body behind. The personality remains exactly where it has always been, in the eternal bosom of God. Your awareness does not change. If you were unaware, then you remain unaware in the afterlife until your next incarnation where you have the chance to evolve some more. In such a case you will be in a heaven or hell of your own making. If you were a nice person, but unaware, you will continue to experience a nice life. If you were a miserable person, but unaware, you will continue to experience a miserable life. Once we evolve in the physical dimension far enough to have some conscious control over our psychic (emotional) and noetic (mental) bodies then we will also have that same control once we leave our bodies. And then our personalities can also evolve while in the afterlife experience.

This is really a rather simplistic description of a very complex topic. I could go on but these are the essentials that explain why it is so important to be proactive about reprogramming your personality. Your personality is the only thing that you carry with you from life to life. This is what Jesus meant when he cautioned us against storing up our treasures on earth, where dust and rust and moth corrupt. Where time and thieves can steal your wealth. Instead store up your treasures in heaven, in the Kingdom of God, which is your personality.

Karma & Cosmology Part I

Story of Love and Spiritual Growth - Karma and CosmologyWhen you look at the original teachers that are behind the religions you will find very great beings. If you look at what those great beings taught, you will find many things in common. You will also find conflicting information as well.

Imagine if you had four people describing the world, each one of them living in a different part; one living in the frozen north of Russia, one in the blazing hot Sahara desert, one living in Santa Monica California, and the last living in Columbia. Wouldn’t these people describe the world in a very different way? Heck two people living in the same house would describe the world in very different ways.

This is how it is trying to describe spirituality. Even the most masterful people I have read says Life cannot be fully understood from our limited perspective. We do not even have the words in our languages to accurately and fully describe the intricate nature of Life and the spiritual causes behind it all. But when I took all of these different teaching and assimilated them into my life I found together they painted a three dimensional picture of reality.

It is important that we do not take one single story as the ultimate truth. But this is what most religions do. They are only stories meant to give us a clue and stimulate an inner memory. A different story from a different culture is no less meaningful than the one that comes from your culture. So now I am going to paint my own picture of the larger nature of our spiritual existence. Although I do have some experience in the spiritual dimensions that extend beyond the physical, it is limited. Thus much of this comes from all that I have read and my inner guidance which has helped me piece it all together.

God is all that is. There is nothing outside of God. Thus we exist within God. Our breath, our life, our very being is God…every single one of us. We are all God separated out into individually focused entities. Each entity experiencing creation from a different perspective. Each entity able to interact with God via the other entities.

There is a collective reality and individual realities too. The collective reality has persistence, and from our perspective it is seemingly evolving. However from the eternal perspective of God all of it is happening at once and is complete. This does not mean there is not freedom of choice for us as ego-beings, or that our destiny is predetermined. What it does mean is that reality is much bigger than we can comprehend, and that all possible realities exist, including the choices that you do not make.

Our lives are much longer than one might imagine. We enter the “Idea of Man” as Daskalos (a Greek mystic) puts it, and from that point on we embark on a series of physical incarnations, one of which you are experiencing now. It is at that beginning point that we are all the same, but from that point forward we forever differ one from another. The difference is due to the different choices and experiences we all have.

To be continued…
